Every story has its beginning, and our Urban Angelic story starts in 2009 after the birth of our two beautiful daughters, Eva and Bianca. Hi I’m Sonia Da Silva, and welcome to Urban Angelic world.

 

We wanted shoes befitting of the kind of spirited babies our daughters are; fun, stylish, and enormously cute. But, after much searching, as it were, the toys just kept coming out of the pram. And so, a niche market was discovered!

After oodles of planning and research, we developed a brand that specializes in creating unique, top quality, hand-embellished shoes, lovingly made, one pair at a time with your baby’s needs (and street cred) in mind.

 

My inspiration comes from my beautiful daughters, whose presence is the perfect front for me to entertain my colourful addiction to childish living and a love for all things cute and adorable. In the development of Urban Angelic, they have been there through every step; putting in the hours with me, reviewing picture books and researching old bugs bunny cartoons, acting as consultants, and as models for the ‘works in progress’, and then going ga ga for the final results. However, running a business from home is never going to be easy, and when your baby’s first words are DHL, and not ABC, you realize it may be a good idea if perhaps next time, they took a back seat during the shipping negotiations. And so it is thanks to my loving husband, Paulo, without whose infallible patience and unconditional support, none of this would have been possible.

 

Together, we love what we do and are passionate about the brand. We are committed to offering impeccably designed products that are of the finest quality, at outstanding value for money, with an exceptional service to back them up.

These are the fundamental values of our business. They are the foundation of our company, define who we are and set us apart.

 

And, so, as every story has a beginning, it has its ending, and I hope that Urban Angelic’s is a long, long way off yet. We so very much look forward to continuing our labour of love. To continue to invest just as much care, attention and passion into every pair of unique shoes we make, and to deliver gorgeously cool shoes that will don the adorable feet of your gorgeously cool babies for generations to come.
